It thrives well in Kerala’s warm and humid climate, growing best in temperatures between 20°C to 32°C. Torenia prefers partial shade to filtered sunlight, making it ideal for shaded gardens and balconies, and grows best in well-drained, fertile soil rich in organic matter. Regular watering is essential to keep the soil consistently moist, but waterlogging should be avoided to prevent root rot. In Kerala conditions, it flowers profusely during monsoon and post-monsoon seasons.
