It grows well in warm tropical regions like Kerala, thriving in temperatures between 24°C and 32°C and tolerating heat up to 36–38°C with proper irrigation. The tree prefers a humid tropical climate with annual rainfall of 1000–2000 mm, well-drained loamy or sandy soils, and full sunlight for optimal flowering and fruiting. Moderate humidity and consistent moisture support healthy growth and good fruit yield.
