Karppooram mango (Mangifera indica var. Karppooram) is a traditional mango variety known for its distinct aroma and sweet, flavorful pulp. It grows well in warm tropical climates like Kerala, with ideal temperatures between 24°C and 32°C. The tree prefers moderate to high humidity, well-drained fertile soil, and annual rainfall of 750–2000 mm, along with a short dry spell before flowering to encourage fruit set. It requires full sunlight and is sensitive to frost and waterlogged conditions, making Kerala’s monsoon climate favorable for its cultivation.
