Malabar chestnut (Pachira aquatica), also known as Guiana chestnut or Money Tree, is a tropical tree valued for its edible seeds and ornamental braided trunk. It thrives in warm, humid climates like Kerala, with ideal temperatures between 20°C and 30°C. The tree prefers high humidity, regular rainfall, and well-drained fertile soil, and it grows well in full sun to partial shade. Sensitive to frost and waterlogging, Malabar chestnut adapts well to Kerala’s tropical monsoon conditions.
