About the Product
Kanakambaram, scientifically known as Crossandra infundibuliformis, is a popular ornamental flowering plant in Kerala admired for its bright orange, peach, and yellow blooms that are widely used for hair decoration and garlands. It thrives well in Keralaβs warm and humid climate, growing best in temperatures between 20Β°C to 35Β°C. Kanakambaram prefers partial shade to full sunlight and grows best in well-drained, fertile soil rich in organic matter. Regular but moderate watering is essential, while waterlogging should be avoided to prevent root rot. In Kerala conditions, it flowers almost throughout the year, especially during warm and humid seasons. Regular pinching, light pruning, and proper fertilization encourage bushier growth and continuous blooming, making it ideal for home gardens, pots, borders, and commercial flower cultivation.
