Hybrid bhendi ‘Varma’ (Abelmoschus esculentus) is a high-yielding hybrid variety of bhendi .grown for its tender green pods used widely as a vegetable. It grows best in warm tropical climates with an optimal temperature of about 24–30 °C and requires good sunlight and moderate rainfall. The crop prefers well-drained fertile loamy soil rich in organic matter for healthy growth. The warm and humid climate of Kerala, where temperatures usually range between 25–32 °C, is suitable for its cultivation throughout most of the year.
