The plant requires high rainfall of about 1500–3000 mm annually, along with high humidity and partial shade for optimal growth. In regions like Kerala, especially in low- and mid-elevation areas, the climate is highly suitable due to consistent warmth, heavy rainfall, and shaded plantation conditions, making Robusta coffee widely cultivated and productive.
