About the Product
West Indian cherry (Malpighia emarginata), also known as Barbados cherry or acerola, is a small tropical shrub or tree valued for its bright red fruits rich in vitamin C. It grows best in warm climates with ideal temperatures between 22°C and 32°C and tolerates heat up to about 38°C, but it is sensitive to frost. In regions like Kerala, the humid tropical climate with good sunlight and moderate to high rainfall supports year-round flowering and fruiting. The plant prefers well-drained sandy or loamy soils and withstands short dry periods once established.
