About the Product
Breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis) is a tropical tree closely related to jackfruit, valued for its large, starchy fruits that are cooked and eaten like vegetables. It grows best in warm, humid climates such as Kerala, requiring temperatures between 25Β°C and 35Β°C, high humidity, and abundant sunlight. The crop thrives in areas with annual rainfall of about 1500β3000 mm, with a short dry season for flowering. It prefers deep, well-drained loamy soils and is sensitive to frost and waterlogging. Keralaβs tropical monsoon climate makes it highly suitable for breadfruit cultivation.
