Babloose, commonly known as bael (Aegle marmelos), is a hardy fruit tree valued for its medicinal and nutritional benefits. It grows best in tropical and subtropical climates with temperatures between 20°C and 35°C, though it can tolerate heat up to 45°C. The tree requires moderate rainfall (about 500–1,200 mm) and prefers a distinct dry season for better fruiting. In regions like Kerala, it grows well under warm conditions, provided the soil is well-drained to handle heavy monsoon rains.
