Innovative and Refined Rural Experiments |
Karshakasree K. C. Kuriakose's ever-green mind continues to seek for new realm of thoughts and possibilities in the field of budding. As a result, his successful research and experiments reached up to young bud 3-in-1 plants, young bud 2-in-1 plants , young bud root trainer plants and so on. Under this novel method of young butting, 3 germinated seeds of high quality are directly planted in a particular manner in poly-bags in order to avail healthy plants to carry out budding process from 28th day onwards.
At the time of growing stage, two among the three plants are cut off in slanting and systematic manner at the height of 2 inch. Those plants which are cut off in a slanting manner will be grafted together with the remaining one. Later, the young budding will be done on the plant which remains as a whole using the scion of high yielding clones. After the successful budding process the three plants which are grafted and budded together will be grown into one, having three separate root systems exhibiting a fantastic and astonishing strength to the stem of new plants, This is known as young bud 3-in-1 plants. This technique also adopts the same method that is applied in the case of young bud 3-in-1 plants. Here we use 2 germinated seeds of high quality instead of three seeds. At the time of growing stage, one of the two plants is cut off in slanting and systematic manner at the height of 2 inch. The plant which is cut off in a slanting manner will be grafted together with the remaining one. Later, the young budding will be done on the plant which remains as a whole using the scion of high yielding clones. After the successful budding process the two plants which are grafted and budded together will be grown into one, having two separate root systems exhibiting a fantastic and astonishing strength to the stem of new plants, This is known as young bud 2-in-1 plants. Rubber Board has recently developed and introduced a new method of producing brown budded and green budded rubber saplings in a poly-propylene cups instead of poly-bags. These cups are conical shaped and having certain characteristics to train the roots to grow in a systematic manner which help the plants to achieve a better root system. Considering this new technique and its merits, Cheerakuzhy Young Bud Rubber Nursery is also making an attempt to develop young bud root trainer plants in co-operating with the Rubber Research Institute of India.
Under this method, the cups are filled with coir pith composite instead of soil . After that germinated rubber seeds are planted in cups and budding starts from 28th day and continues up to 60 days. After the successful budding process, the young bud plants will be allowed to grow in the cups itself 4-5 months. There after, the shoot portion above the bud patch will be chopped off. The bud will start sprouting from the 10th day onwards. Thus the way of young budding ; the plants in poly-propylene cups get matured for planting within 10 months after sowing the rubber seeds. >> more details Recently, we have entered into a new method of paddy cultivation in barren land using limited and vain water. " Our efforts have turned out to be successful. We are happy because the yield from an acre ia as same as the average yield under age-old method of paddy cultivation" says Karshasree K. C. Kuriakose. We utilize the bio waste for the biogas for the kitchen and compost to the garden. Our endeavor is to develop a role model for economically viable eco farming. This is simply a return to traditional farming system called ‘The Thodi’ (tropical home garden, which was the backbone of the Kerala agriculture and ecology system. Cultivation is a laborious and pleasant occupation which provides various opportunities to the farmer to find out his own innovative methods to reduce his burden to an extent. With regarding to this, we are also tried our level best in transforming a tiller into a land leveling equipment. Besides that, a numerous other facilities are arranged here according to our taste and comfort. |
