It thrives in warm, humid tropical to subtropical climates with ideal temperatures between about 18 °C and 30 °C, needing high humidity and protection from cold below ~10 °C. The tree prefers well-drained, fertile slightly acidic soil and consistent moisture without waterlogging. In regions like Kerala, India, with warm, humid, frost-free conditions and abundant rainfall, the white jaboticaba can grow well and fruit successfully.
